Where to Eat in Bocas del Toro: Local Favorites
In Bocas you eat well with your feet almost in the water: fresh seafood, tacos, pizza by the shore and jungle cafés. These are the spots we recommend, sorted by area.
First, it may help to know where to stay by area.
Near La Selva (Paunch and Bluff)
- Paunch Beach Club — loungers, good food and a great vibe on Paunch beach.
- Skully's — a pirate beach bar-restaurant between town and Paunch; food and drinks all day.
- Paki Point — on the road toward Bluff, with sea views (usually open 11:00–19:00).
- Arboloco and La Coralina — more easygoing beach options in the area.
In Bocas town (Isla Colón)
Town has the widest variety: seafood, international food, cafés and street eats. Places change often, so ask us for current picks. By the marina, The Floating Bar serves tacos and drinks over the water, day and night.
On the islands (a boat food tour)
- Bibi's (Carenero) — seafood and more, over the water; also rents kayaks and snorkel gear.
- Aqua Lounge (Carenero) — a bar-restaurant with a slackline over the sea.
- The Blue Coconut (Solarte) — shallow turquoise water; swim before you eat.
- Yarisnori (Boca del Drago) — next to Starfish Beach, perfect after seeing the starfish.
- Up In The Hill (Bastimentos) — an organic cacao-farm café: coffee, wraps, a veggie burger and its famous banana cake.
